Awesome study Richie Crowley, as you know my viral article was originally self-published and got the majority of its views while in a tiny publication. So it’s another data point to prove publications aren’t everything.

I admire your work in promoting articles off Medium and it’s something I need to look into more. Uncurated articles will die quickly with internal views but curated articles are like lottery tickets. The more you have the greater the chance of hitting the jackpot you have. I do suspect curated articles with lots of external views are pushed to more people internally too.
