Hi Ellen, I believe I recognize your name from a piece we published at EH :) Larger pubs simply increase the chances that more people will see it and trigger a chain reaction but it doesn't guarantee anything. I wouldn't be so sure it is always better to run your own pub and it depends on each writer's goals and the importance they place on their mailing list.
